Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

To read the press, a combination of technological changes, new business models, changing viewing habits, must see TV and generation change is a perfect storm that is threatening the existence of theatrical exhibition. Yet, according to our surveys, attendance is increasing in art film venues, even as studio films are more hit and miss than ever. These sessions will analyze current trends and explore the factors that set art film theaters apart, with a particular focus on local marketing and curation. Forget algorithms and platforms; the future of cinema is cinemas. This afternoon session consists of four parts:
- Opening statement
- Panel moderated by Ira Deutchman
- Break-out sessions
- Closing analysis and summary of the afternoon
