Janette Force just completed her eighth season as executive director of the Port Townsend Film Festival. The Festival, which has expanded from two commercial theatres downtown, to five more “built theatres,” takes place in the city’s six-block National Historic District waterfront. These buildings are challenging in addressing structure, throw, rise, echo and cost. Solutions include engaging sponsors as funders and partnering with organizations such as city government and non-profits for theatre builds. Janette’s 25 years of small business management, early acting career, a passion for spectacle and this isolated old seaport two hours  fit together to make an ideal opportunity for community collaboration.
