John Toner is the founding Executive Director of Renew Theaters, which operates four nonprofit theaters in the Philadelphia area - the County, Ambler, Hiway, and Garden Theaters. All four venues are golden-age, small-town movie theaters with their own separate boards and memberships. Renew also provides management/consulting services to other theaters.. The Lady Eve is officially Toner's favorite movie and Celine and Julie Go Boating is the film that changed his life. Toner is a graduate of Swarthmore College and is a recovering attorney.
